Rachel came to us originally in 2015 as a kitten and was adopted. Her owners could no longer care for her so she was returned to us in July, 2020. Rachel is a loving girl who is now in need of a new home. She has tested neg for feline leukemia/FIV, is spayed and is current on shots/dewormings. We are looking for an INDOOR only home for Rachel. Her adoption fee is $80. A pet porter is required at the time of adoption. To meet Rachel, please fill out an adoption form and submit it at mchs.rescuegroups.org. We will contact you when we receive your application and set up a time to meet. Our address is 101 22 ST SE, Austin, MN. We are located off of I-90 via exit 180B to 218 SOUTH. For dogs, there is an application form that needs to be completed a few days ahead of time, before we are able to release an animal. We review applications to make sure there is a compatible fit between adoptive home and the characteristics of the animal. Adoption fees for dogs range from $95 to $150

Regular animal viewing hours are at the Shelter on Tuesdays from 4:30PM to 6PM, and Sundays from 2PM to 4PM. Other days/times can be arranaged by appointment.

The Mower County Humane Society is run entirely volunteers. The group strives to take in homeless and stray dogs and cats and place them into responsible, lifelong homes.
NOTE: The Shelter address does not register correctly on Google maps. Our Shelter is east of the Charter cable office in Austin MN. This is off of Hwy 218 south - our shelter is east of the highway just off the eastern tip of Oakland Avenue. The official address is 101 22nd Street SE
