"Hello, I'm Rubix.

I need your help urgently. My human has fallen on hard times and, unfortunately, has to leave the country by the end of the month. This means I need to find a new home before June 29th. I'm a 10-year-old red pit mix, fixed, and weigh about 65 pounds. My shots are all up to date, so I'm healthy and ready to be your new best friend.

I absolutely love the outdoors, playing fetch, and swimming. After a good day of activity, I enjoy cuddling up and watching TV with my human. However, I'm not a fan of loud noises or small animals. I'm looking for a loving family who can provide me with the care and companionship I need.

Additional adoption info

An approved application, vet reference, personal reference check and home visit are required to finalize an adoption. We suggest a $200 donation that helps offset some of our expenses such as feeding, boarding, training, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and miscellaneous veterinary costs.
Adoption fees are used to continue to help homeless animals in need!

We are a rescue that is dependent on volunteers as we do not have a physical building. We rent space at a kennel in Upperco, Md. If you would like to meet one of our dogs please contact us to make arrangements. Thanks!

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
