Meet Mona. Mona is a very special girl, looking for a very special home that will accept her for her quirks. Sweet Mona was abandoned at a high kill shelter, after she suffered severe trauma to the head, resulting in brain damage; this doesn't damper Mona's mood though! Mona is still the sweetest, most affectionate little dog you'll ever meet! Mona tries her best to be potty trained and crate trained, but she is still working on mastering these skills. Mona is a saint, and gets along well with dogs of all sizes, cats and kittens, and even barnyard animals too! The only real time you can tell that Mona has had brain trauma, is when she's been standing and/or walking for a while, she will often start to spin in circles; she can be quickly brought out of her spins by simply talking to her and/or petting her to get her attention. If you aren't deterred by a little peculiarity, apply to meet sweet Mona today!

Thank you so much for looking into wags and whiskers for your next family member.
All of our pets are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested if over 6 months old and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.
Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each dog. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left tied to a tree, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners. Please take into consideration that owning a pet is a 10+ year commitment and discuss with all members of your family before submitting an application to adopt.
If you have already filled out an online adoption application with our organization in the last 6 months you do not need to fill out another application. Please call or email us to schedule an appointment. 530-895-8888
If you are interested in meeting this pet please apply to adopt at http://www.wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com/adopt.html if the pet is still available for adoption and you are approved to adopt we will contact you to set up a meet and greet appointment.
