Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Newsflash: Snoop Dogg has his forever home! He participated in a board & train to work on his commands and social skills with other dogs. He is doing GREAT and meeting new dogs. Stay tuned for updates. Meet Snoop!! Snoop is a 4 yr old Old English Sheepdog weighing 97 lbs. Snoop is a little shy when meeting new people but after just a little bit of time and patience, he warms up, especially for a treat! Snoop is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows his basic commands (sit, stay, down). He is very smart and learns fast. Snoop was purchased as a pup from an Old English Sheepdog breeder, but unfortunately, due to the owner's medical issues, it was realized that Snoop deserved someone who had time for him. Snoop will need guidance with leash walking. The trainer who assessed Snoop notes that he gets over-excited when he sees dogs and will bark and pull to go meet them. He will also bark at them if he is in a car. Again, Snoop gets over excited wanting to go meet them. He definitely needs to work on leash manners. The trainer recommends some formal lessons to help the adopter know how to walk him with a proper training collar and leash. Snoop was great with the trainers personal dogs, just a slow intro (waited for Snoop to settle, redirected him a few times and he was good. Didn’t take long). Snoop may be too much for some dogs, he loves to play and if his person lets him just go without guidance, he may be too much. But again, he takes direction very well to show him he needs to be respectful of other dogs. We didn’t have any issues with him at all, intros went very quickly, Snoop was a good boy.
Snoop lives with his doggie friend but a proper introduction to any current dogs in the new home will be needed. Snoop has never lived with cats so a cat-less home is best. He is a little anxious but once he has a stable home, he will make a wonderful addition. Snoop has never lived with small children, so we feel due to his large size a home without toddlers is best. Snoop is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.
