My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

* I would love it if you would consider fostering you until I find my FOREVER home - maybe it can be yours!

Meet Pam, the beautiful light brown Terrier mix with an irresistible face and a zest for life! Pam is full of energy and can leap an impressive 5 feet in the air. She loves to play and enjoys long walks, making her an ideal companion.

Pam arrived at Anderson Humane from a partner shelter in Louisiana and tested positive for heartworm. But don't worry-the staff believes the best place for heartworm-positive dogs like Pam is with a loving and forever family, where they can receive the care and attention they deserve during treatment and recovery.

If you choose to adopt Pam, you'll have the support of the clinic staff every step of the way. They will be there to answer any questions and offer guidance throughout the three-month heartworm treatment process. This involves some simple at-home steps to keep Pam safe while she recovers, followed by a final follow-up test six months after treatment begins. The treatment is highly successful, and the staff is confident that Pam will make a full recovery. Plus, it's important to note that heartworm is only transmitted from animal to animal by mosquitoes, so there's no risk of transmission within the home.

Pam would thrive in a home where she can receive plenty of love and attention, as she adores human affection. Her ideal family would understand her need for a lower-activity lifestyle during her recovery and be patient and supportive throughout the treatment journey. Her affectionate nature makes her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal lap dog to share their home with.

Once Pam completes her treatment and gets the all-clear from the vet, she'll be ready to embrace a more active routine and explore the world with her new family. If you're looking for a sweet, energetic, and loving companion, Pam is the perfect pup for you!

Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you.

I hope to meet you soon!

Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
