Meet Azzurro! This 2 year old, 44 pound mix is a resilient boy who is full of love and happiness! Azzurro loves new people: He's super friendly, loves pets, and especially loves other dogs and people! Azzurro is such a joyful pup! He loves exploring the city and is working hard on his leash skills. Crate and house trained, this well-trained pup is the perfect companion. One challenge Azzurro has faced is a diagnosis of pulmonary stenosis, a medical condition that is managed by daily medication and some lifestyle modifications (no big hikes for his guy!). With the right adopter, we know he will continue to thrive -- he is such a lovable mush, he will make his future family so happy!

The best way to meet our pups is via private meetings or at adoption events. We host these weekly at various locations around NYC.

Our adoption fee ranges from $275-$550 and covers the costs of vetting, boarding, transportation, and other necessary items for our dogs.

We are a foster-only rescue and do not have a physical location. Please email us at adopt@heartsandbonesrescue.org to arrange a private meeting with our dogs or visit us at an adoption event. We host events every weekend at various locations around NYC.

Hearts & Bones Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based rescue with dual bases in New York City, NY and Dallas, TX. We are dedicated to ending the needless euthanasia of shelter dogs through direct lifesaving, shared learning, and community building. Our incredible network of rescue partners, fosters, volunteers, and a small but mighty staff work together to save dogs in the areas where shelters are under the greatest stress, and unite them with loving adopters ready to give them the lives they deserve.
