My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm a sweet, affectionate, and loving cat. I've had a hard life and I'm looking for a quiet home where I can feel safe.

My story is so sad it could be a country song. I was badly bullied by adult cats before I was 8 weeks old. I was then adopted and returned several times for various reasons. I seem to be a target for bullying so would do best in a home with no other cats, or cats who are exceptionally friendly and patient with other cats (and even then, I'd need my own space where I could go and decompress if I get overwhelmed).

My foster mom strongly advises that I start out in a small space. I get scared if I have too much room and then I don't use the litter box. I started out in my foster mom's office and it was too big and overwhelming for me. She then moved me to a small bathroom and I settled in there very well. She slowly increased my access to the house, and now I haven't had a potty issue in a very long time! Foster mom knows I want to be a good girl and was only doing it because I was so scared.

Foster mom thinks that if I were a human I'd have something called 'Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.' However, I've come a very long way in my healing journey and I'm ready to be adopted.

I believe my forever family is out there, but I'll need a lot of help to find them!

After the application is processed we will make arrangements for you to meet the cats that interest you. All of our cats and kittens are raised in our homes and live with us until they are adopted. They live with us as part of our families so we know them very well and we can help you find your perfect cat! Cats are rarely caged (only if its medically necessary) so you can visit with them and see how they act in a home.

More about this rescue

Community Cat is a nonprofit cat rescue and advocacy group based in Whitewater, Wisconsin. No cat left behind! We focus on cats who are at high risk of euthanasia elsewhere and are considered less adoptable: seniors, disabled, hospice, and special needs. We have saved over 1,700 cats since we were founded in 2009!

We are completely foster home based and utilize those foster homes to rescue and rehabilitate cats that are most at risk for euthanasia. Our foster homes care for these cats as if they were their very own, so they know them very well and we are able to find the best match for potential adopters.
