My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Papaya is a pretty little Tortoiseshell girl who mostly hangs out with her brothers and sisters, but loves to snuggle with you in bed at night. All Ayla's cats must be indoor only and declawing is not allowed.   A home visit is required and there is a small adoption fee.  If you are interested in adopting this cute little girl, please go to Aylasacres.org and submit an adoption application.

Additional adoption info

We don't have a facility, so we screen applicants thoroughly before we set up a meet and greet. We conduct a vet check, reference check and a home check. We typical set up the meet at the adoptive home so the home check can be completed at the same time. If both parties agree the pup is a good fit we complete the adoption agreement and accept the adoption fee.

More about this rescue

We are tackling the problem one animal at a time. Ayla’s Acres No-Kill Animal Rescue is a St. Augustine, Florida-based 501(c)(3) supporting adoption, spay and neuter, and responsible care of animals. Along with education, outreach, and adoption and fostering programs, Ayla’s Acres also maintains a 45-acre sanctuary where “unadoptable” animals may live out their lives with peace, love, and dignity.
