My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kris, a beautiful 3-year-old 45 pound husky mix with a heart as vast as the Kentucky skies he once roamed under. Kris is a puppy at heart - full of life, pure joy and loyalty, with one mesmerizing blue eye that reflects the depths of his longing for a loving home.

Despite his undeniable charm and sweet nature, Kris finds himself questioning why he remains overlooked and unchosen by his forever family. Abandoned by his previous owners when they relocated, Kris sought solace in the confines of an outdoor Kentucky shelter. But amidst the bleakness, a glimmer of hope emerged as fate led Kris into the care of Peace4Paws, who recognized his worth and welcomed him with open arms. Now, Kris eagerly seeks the feeling of home, yearning for the joy of belonging to someone who loves him the way he craves to be loved.

Kris is the definition of the perfect companion, as his past hasn't hardened his sweet soul — he's man's truest best friend, and adores the company of children, dogs, and cats too. Housebroken, neutered, and up to date on all vaccinations, Kris is ready to embark on a new chapter of his life, filled with adventures and sweet moments to share. And we know he will spend his life showing you he was the right choice.

With a playful spirit that revels in the great outdoors yet knows the comfort of a quiet evening by your side, Kris longs for someone to spoil with his unwavering love and affection, while hoping to receive the same in return. Will you be the one to give Kris the home he dreams of, where he can finally lay his head down knowing he is cherished beyond measure? More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
