My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Approximate Date of Birth:  03-26-2024

Description:

Cosmos is a talkative, friendly, playful guy who has a bit of a goofy side. He's also a social little sweetheart. He loves to wrestle with siblings, or to chase small mice that you throw for him, and he also likes cuddling, lying next to you. He wrestles with his humans as well... luckily, he is easily redirected to an appropriate toy. He has a huge purr and uses it a lot! He loves to be held, when he’s not playing, and to sit on shoulders and jump on backs if you bend over to pick something up - he just wants to be near his humans. If you are near him doing something else, he will reach out to touch you to get your attention back on him. Cosmos would love a kitty friend in his home and if you're looking for a pair, he and his sister Sage make a beautiful set of tabbies!

Words to Describe Me: playful, goofy, and snuggly

Favorite Place to Sleep: cat tree

Favorite Toy: Wand toy, small toys that you throw for him to chase, cat tree

Perfect Day: Eat, play, explore, nap, repeat, sleep.

Kitty's Likes: Playing, wrestling, snuggling, talking

Kitty's Dislikes: being alone

Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: Play with me or snuggle with me (depending on my current mood)

Favorite Treat: lickable treats (in the tube or in a bowl)

Job Title in Foster: Wrestling director

When I Grow Up, I Want to Be: A loved member of the family

  • Good with Cats: Likes cats given a proper introduction.

  • Good with Dogs: Unknown, but optimistic (Animal has not met any dogs.)

  • Good with Children: Can live with children over the age of 8

  • Companion Animal: Not necessary.

Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested (as indicated by age), receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption as appropriate by age.

Cosmos  tested positive for         FeLV          therefore would need to be in a home with other FeLV kitties (or adopt one of the other FeLV kitties in the rescue) or he can be your one and only boy.  Saving One Life will provide veterinary care throughout this feline's life.

Adoption Process:   Our adoptable animals are located at one of our adoption centers or in foster homes. We require interested parties to apply prior to meeting to ensure a good match. Applications can be submitted on our website at  www.savingonelife.org/adopt/apply.

Additional adoption info

We will adopt to out of state adopters but we do NOT ship animals under any conditions. You must come to us in person to meet the animal and make sure it is a mutual match. We have had many adopters come from the states around us and drive or fly with their new family member back.

Go meet their pets

Some of our "ready to adopt" felines are located at one of our Arizona PetSmart locations. https://www.savingonelife.org/adopt/locations/

We also have a small satellite operation in San Diego with adoption events on select Saturdays at the PetSmart Escondido store.

We highly recommend applying in advance in order to increase your opportunity at adopting the kitty you are interested in. Applications are processed in the order they were received. If you have questions, please email adoptions@savingonelife.org.

More about this rescue

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, never kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidentally got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them at intake@savingonelife.org. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for felv/fiv (Cats), dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fees range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely never kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care.
