Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Fonzie is a very gentle cat and very shy. This sweet 3-legged boy has a lovely personality and is very loving once he has warmed up to you. He will never leave any food in the bowl and always says yes to a snack or meal. He enjoys sitting with his foster parent and will now sleep on the bed with them. He is 100% food-motivated and will never leave a bowl empty.
When Chicago Cat Rescue learned about Fonzie, all we knew was he had an injured leg. Femur bone, an inch and a half long, was protruding through this poor cat’s skin. We made immediate plans to receive Fonzie and incredibly, we were able to schedule surgery within 36 hours. Fonzie lost his leg, but his suffering was alleviated, and the life of a gentle, affectionate cat was saved. Fonzie has healed beautifully, and he’s ready to rumble on three perfectly functioning legs!
This gentle guy is very sensitive to loud sounds so he needs a quiet and calm home. He is listed as special needs, but that is only because he had to have one of his legs removed. He is also FIV+.
This kitty will purr a lot and show you plenty of affection if you give him his forever home.
FIV+ cats may have compromised immune systems due to the FIV virus. However, FIV+ cats can and do live long, healthy lives. Proactive health care and early detection of health issues are important with FIV+ cats, although the same is true for all cats. As the virus is spread primarily through blood via bites, both FIV+ and FIV- cats can share homes with one another, as they have, via adoption from shelters and rescues, for many years.
If you would like to meet and possibly adopt this amazing feline, please email info@chicagocatrescue.org or call 773/203-0215. No texts, please.
CCR adopts to forever homes in Chicago or the very near suburbs that are within 10 miles of our Chicago foster families. We love our cats and we pledge support for the rest of their lives, which is why our location limits are in place. We appreciate your understanding. If you are outside of these limits, please check petfinder.com, which allows searching by zip code, for cats closer to your home.
At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well-being of the cats and kittens in our care. For this reason, unless expressly stated, we do not place cats or kittens in homes where they will be the only cat. Generally, cats love the company of other cats, and can become quite lonely when living alone.
Kittens will only be placed in pairs, or to join another kitten or young cat in your home.
Chicago Cat Rescue is an entirely foster-based organization. Our ability to help more cats in need is dependent on our availability of foster homes. If you think you could provide a loving foster situation for a cat in need, or would like to learn more about our foster program, please email us, info@chicagocatrescue.org. Thank you!
