My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cream Soda,

This pretty girl came to us from a large intake. Cream Soda has come a long way since she first came into care having very few positive experiences with humans. Now that she's had some time to adjust, she's started greeting staff with gentle head butts to ask for pets. Although she may be shy at first Cream Soda has already shown how much she is eager to learn how to be someone's loving companion. We can't wait to see her personality blossom in a loving home. Even though she may take some time to trust, with some patience and love she's sure to be your loving companion. Cream Soda is very much ready for her forever home. It would be best for her to be started off in a smaller quiet room while she adjusts. Cream Soda came from a home with multiple other cats so would enjoy a feline companion!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
