My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you put happy, silly, and cute into a fun size burly little package- get you a Wren! Named after a cute little bird, but giving the snorts and sweetness of a little piggy! Whatever her breed combo is she has a short nose in her family tree so be prepared to giggle at some of the piggie piggie moments when she starts to make a nest on the couch or after a good play session! We hope she flies right into your heart and home! Watch her video to see her in action!

Wren is the kind of dog you want to come home to after a long day, she is going to greet you with a wiggly, happy butt, gentle kisses and be ready to snuggle the stress away! She has pocket bully written all over her but I would say she is best described as pocket buddy! Of course with rescue we can’t say for sure what her breed is but I stand by pocket buddy 100%, At 49 lbs she is a petite girlie with enough weight behind her that you’ll feel the snuggle without having it break you. It is important you understand that Wren is the friendly-type, she wants to greet the world and knows no stranger. Whether she goes to them or they come to her, if you head out of the house together leave a few extra minutes for the greetings and comments about you super cute dog. Another thing, she is great with kids! She really seemed to understand that you have to be calmer and gentler with littles. We didn’t get to see her with toddlers but I suspect she may accidentally knock them over with her cutie-booty, of course we are happy to do this if you have toddlers and think she is your pick.

We all met Wren on a stormy Houston day and this girl brought the sunshine to our day, it was genuinely the only time the rain broke all day. On top of that she was the emotional sunshine we were otherwise missing. From the moment we all saw her face not a single person was having a bad day, she cleared up the gloomies all around.

When we introduced Wren to other dogs we learned quickly- this girl has a type. She hit it off with a bully breed boy named Remy. The bully play style isn’t for every dog but she reads cues well and does not push if the dog isn’t receptive to her. She was friendly, greeted well on and off leash, and when she wasn’t running and playing with her “boyfriend” she was happy to just hang out and check in with people for a little love and maybe a treat.

Wren’s ideal home is flexible, she absolutely could be an apartment girlie thanks to her friendliness, size, and go-with-the flow personality. If you have a house that is awesome too, more space to sploot and sunbathe. Ideal dog pairing would be a playful boy who doesn’t mind the bully playstyle. Her energy level is about 5-10 minutes of running and then she is ready to sprawl out to catch her breath, so this girl is low-mid level energy and would benefit from a dog with a similar stamina. If you are looking to be an one-dog house, this girl is a great candidate! People fill up her love tank and she has the love of at least two dogs in there to share so you won’t ever go love-starved. As far as cats go, we would recommend a cat-free home, she was ready to play a game of chase with our house cat Tom and we all know how much cats hate that game.

If you bring the love and promise to buy the food- she is all in! The cherry on top would be if you didn’t mind letting her greet the world on occasion, she deserves to spread that happiness around!

So if you have space for 49 lbs of dog with a ton of love to give then Ill call you lucky, Wren is ready and available to fill that vacancy!

If you have any questions about Wren or would like us to test her for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure she is the correct fit for you and your life!

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
