My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We have a transport set up leaving on 7/27/24 to NorCal and OR and would love to add Kingston to our trip for the right family. Transport will be seperate from his adoption fee, as we will be driving from SoCal so we definitely need everyone's support along the way to cover travel expenses!

Meet Kingston! He is a 1.5 year old purebred miniature schnauzer. He is salt and pepper in color. He weighs 19 lbs and yes he is full grown and at a healthy weight.

He is crate trained, and currently sleeps in his crate at night, or to nap in during the day. He is very well behaved in the home, and does love to lounge around if not in the crate. We are working on leash skills, and building confidence on walks around our home as the temperatures have been extremely hot to walk him anywhere else. He is very good at going outside to use the restroom, and whenever we open the door and tell him "outside," he will go if he needs to or stay back if he doesn't.

He rides very well on road trips, loves his spa days with our groomer and has developed a special relationship with her as he truly loves to be loved.

He is wonderful with all dogs he has met, big or small.

Wonderful with everyone he meets, but is just a little shy at first, but warms up quickly. He has the more outgoing personality between him and his brother Winston (who is also posted for adoption.) He is not territorial or possessive over food, toys, or people. He is very good at sharing ❤️

He is ALOT of fun, and loves to play with toys, especially if they are bouncy balls he can throw up in the air and fetch himself 😂 He is smart, and aims to please and will make training moving forward very easy for his new family. He is NOT a barker; but will alert you of unfamiliar noises. He is a kind hearted, SWEET boy patiently waiting for a home all his own!

His prior owner surrendered him along with his two siblings (check out their posts as well!) because he admitted it was their moms first litter (she only had 3) and he fell in love with them, and felt like he could give them all a good life with his family, but as they matured, he realized keeping that many was much more work than he had realized, and came to the realization that they deserved a family all their own so he reached out to us to take them in.

Adoption fee is on our website at Breadoflifek9refuge.org under his listing. He is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, and had a wonderful overall physical exam with our vet whome has cleared him to find a home all his own.
Yes, he has a natural tail. His prior family didn't dock their tails when born, so they remained natural as they matured 💙

Their adoption process

1.

Interview

When we have out of area adoptions, we always schedule a phone interview first to ensure the dog inquired about is the perfect fit.

2.

Home Check

We request photos/videos of your home and yard space to ensure it's safe for the dog you are inquiring about.

3.

Sign Adoption Contract

Once all requirements are met, we will schedule a travel plan to bring your pup/dog to you. Adoption contracts are usually signed in person.

4.

Pay Fee

Adoption fees are paid in person, unless other arrangements have been made due to distance/travel plans requiring fees to be paid ahead

5.

Take the Pet Home

Once all above is met, the dog becomes the new adopting families pet and goes home with them.

Additional adoption info

Please check out our website As it explains a lot there at breadoflifek9refuge.org.
Since we travel out of state and all over the US we offer transportation whether by car, or flight as long as transport costs are covered. During our initial phone interview we will discuss any and all concerns to ensure every adoption goes as smoothly as possible from beginning to end.
