My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

All paws up for Langston the four-year-old pup whose zest for life is matched only by his adorable goofiness! Langston is a playful boy with a strong exterior, but don't let that fool you--he is a complete love bug, who not only craves attention, but smothers you with it as well. With eyes like hazel pools, Langston is undoubtedly a stunner. Langston's goofy antics and light-hearted nature makes him the life of any gathering. This four legged kid is always up for a game of fetch or a round of "chase your tail until you're dizzy," keeping everyone entertained with his happy go lucky attitude. His affectionate personality knows no bounds, an absolute people pleaser. He prefers to be a wallflower, observing the canine crowd until he finds the perfect playmate who matches his energy and vibe. But once Langston finds his person, there's no stopping the fun!

Langston is currently staying in a volunteer foster home and is looking for a loving family to call his own. More about this shelter

The South Suburban Humane Society (SSHS) incorporated in 1970 as a small group of volunteers who brought homeless pets into their homes and worked to find them permanent homes. From those humble origins, we grew to a 501c3 nonprofit organization operating a 19,000 square foot animal resource campus in Matteson, IL that takes in more than 4,000 pets annually, a Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic, a Low-Cost Veterinary Services Clinic, and a variety of far-reaching community services. The SSHS annually impacts 20,000 pets and the people who love them through these programs.
