My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jadzia!
Jadzia is a small and striking Domestic Shorthair with a beautiful tortoiseshell coat and captivating foresty golden-green eyes. Though her exact age is a mystery, her personality shines through with a mix of shyness and a little tortie-tude.

Personality and Traits:
Jadzia is a bit of an introvert who prefers the cozy comfort of hiding under blankets or soft things until she feels safe in her surroundings. Once she’s comfortable, her playful side emerges, though she’s more about quiet moments than wild antics. She enjoys head scratches, but only on her terms—when she`s had enough attention, she’ll give you a gentle paw or nibble to let you know. Jadzia also has a quiet, soothing purr that makes those bonding moments even more special. She’s a sweet cat who just needs the right environment to feel secure.

Special Considerations:
Jadzia is a sensitive soul who gets nervous around loud noises and sudden movements. Because of this, she would thrive best in a quiet home. She’ll need someone who understands her shyness and is willing to either help her build confidence or let her come out of her shell in her own time. Her new family will need to respect her boundaries and give her the space she needs to feel safe and loved.

Ideal Home:
Jadzia would do best in a calm, quiet household without too much hustle and bustle. She’d prefer a home where she can be the center of attention or one where her independent streak is appreciated. If you have the patience to let her adjust and blossom at her own pace, she will reward you with her unique charm and sweet, quiet companionship.

Why Adopt Jadzia?
If you’re looking for a cat who’s independent yet affectionate on her own terms, Jadzia is the perfect match. She’s shy, sassy, and sweet all wrapped into one, and she’ll bring a touch of tortie-tude to your life with the right amount of love and patience.

Go meet their pets

Thank you for your interest in adopting from West Valley City/Taylorsville Animal Services! We would love for you to come to the shelter and meet your new family member.

You can come to the shelter Monday through Friday between 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm and walk through to see the animals we have available for adoption.

Please keep in mind that adoptions are first come, first serve. We often have a few pets that would make a good match for each family, so if the animal you are interested in is no longer available, you can still come in and meet some animals to see if there's a good fit.
