My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet, handsome boy is Nimbus. Nimbus is the full package- part family dog, part adventure dog, part couch-potato snuggle-bug, and 100% sunshine and happiness. This loving boy collects friends of all shapes and sizes- cats, dogs, and humans, and he hopes you’ll be his friend too!

Meet Nimbus here: https://youtu.be/HigXtXHPg9Q?si=4S9nI2wBKXTS53Pb

Nimbus is estimated to be around 7 months old, and weighs in around 40 pounds. We suspect Nimbus to be a bull terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier mix. He is a rescue, and as with all rescue dogs, exact age and breed are unknown and cannot be guaranteed.

When you first meet Nimbus, you’ll think he’s an energetic boy with an insatiable appetite for adventure- and you’ll be right in some ways, but a little wrong too. Nimbus has barrels of energy for new people and new places, but he also loves to just snuggle and hang out once he knows you better. He loves couch time, belly rubs and laying upside down in your lap. Nimbus’s foster mom says that Nimbus simply has a complete understanding that he was rescued, and he’s had a huge heart for humans since.

Nimbus is a dream with kids, even in his “new friend” excitement, he’s gentle and patient with them. Nimbus did well playing a 6 year old and an 8 year old, and gently taking treats from both. Nimbus is great with cats as well, he’s not overly interested and sometimes even seems to be afraid of them! Nimbus’s cat test has been included in his video, so you can see for yourself. Our behavior team recommends him for a home with cats! With other dogs, Nimbus tends to be submissive, forgiving and playful. He’s quick to make new friends, and never takes it personally when another dog gets too excited. Nimbus is a well-rounded great dog!

In the car, Nimbus is easy. He loads up well and he’s a confident car rider. On leash he’s great, he doesn’t pull too much, and he responds to direction well. His foster mom brags about his crate-skills, he loves his time in the crate and very much sees it as his safe space. Nimbus has been potty-trained at his foster’s house, I spent two hours with Nimbus, he had no accidents inside and was quick to potty once we went outside. Nimbus may need a refresher on appropriate potty spots once he’s moved into his forever home, but that is to be expected when bringing any new dog home!

If you’ve been looking for a sweet, handsome bully breed family dog, Nimbus is your guy! Nimbus would do best in a home with at least one loving human, and he isn’t too picky about the rest! He loves the idea of living with kids, and he’s open to the idea of living with cats, but he does ask for his own bedroom (crate)! Nimbus is still in his puppy years, so he’ll need a family that can commit to furthering his training and socialization, and ensuring that he gets his daily exercise. Apply to adopt Nimbus! ☁️

We are willing to test this dog with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
