My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*PART OF A BONDED PAIR - PAIR MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER*

Lydia has established herself as a moustachioed master thief that stole her foster family's hearts. A tuxedo cat on the outside, Lydia has many, many layers of love and cuteness to unpack. Originally from a feral colony in Colchester, CT, Lydia and her sister Bethany have shown they are anything but feral. Lydia loves to be with/on/around/near/adjacent/etc. other people; actually, it’s pretty difficult to get away from her at times. The cuddles she offers are rather aggressive (in a cute way) and she will vocally express her displeasure should you start petting her and abruptly stop. When attention time is over, Lydia is just as content to curl up on her bed and take a nap and watch her favorite channel: the window. Lydia may take some time to get used to her new family but, when she does, you’ll forget she was never a part of the family to begin!

Lydia needs to be adopted with her sister, Bethany.

Lydia was born around May 1, 2023, and is currently being fostered in Naugatuck. She is fixed, up-to-date on shots, is microchipped, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

All of our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes. "Meet and Greets" can be arranged only after an application has been submitted and approved.

Applications for adoption can be found on our website at www.fosterandforever.org.

Our volunteers do their best to respond within 24-48 hours.

Meet the Pet

We are a foster-based rescue. All our cats reside in private homes. A meet-and-greet can be arranged for approved adopters only.

Additional adoption info

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.fosterandforever.org. If all is well on your application, we will contact you about setting up a home visit by one of our volunteers.

**Please give your vet permission to release information to us as we check references.

The adoption fee for our cats covers the cost of spaying/neutering, age appropriate routine vaccinations, deworming, snap test, and flea preventive treatment. Some of our older cats are offered at a reduced fee in order to encourage placement in a permanent home.

Thank you for your interest in adopting from Foster and Forever Pet Rescue!

NOTE: For the safety of our cats and adopter’s children, families with children under 5 years of age will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Go meet their pets

All of our pets reside in foster homes. We do not have a shelter. Once an application is approved (for any cat), arrangements can be made to meet the cat of your choice.

More about this rescue

Foster and Forever Pet Rescue Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue that was founded in 2011. We have been working since then to improve the lives of abandoned, abused and homeless animals by serving as an umbrella under which foster homes will provide care for homeless animals until loving permanent homes can be found.

We provide spay/neuter services and all necessary medical care, as well as food and supplies, and find foster homes to care for the animals we rescue until we are able to find them forever homes. For additional information, visit our web site at www.fosterandforever.org, and be sure to check us out on Facebook and Instagram.
