My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi I’m Dukie and my foster mom says I'm very sweet and playful. I even know my name! I love when she picks me up and puts me over her shoulder so I can see up high, it makes me purr, but then again any attention makes me purr.

I lost my littermates when I was 6 weeks old and my foster mom found me hiding under a dumpster. I have a lot of fur between my toes, so I amuse myself by running around corners and sliding across the floor! I don’t even need a toy. But, if you toss my mouse, I’ll slide to get it, and sometimes I even bring it back so you can throw it again!!!

I like to be wherever you are and I’m happy laying in the bathroom sink just watching you brush your hair, etc. I still give love bites and sometimes mom says I nip too hard. But I learn fast, so when I do, she tells me, “no biting,” so then I kiss instead. I just want to play, but my foster mom doesn’t have time and her older cat is grumpy and always hisses and growls at me, but all I want is some love and play! Will you please play with me?

Something special about me, besides my good looks and great purr-sonality, is that I have a cute, sweet meow. It's kind of like a peep or a chirp. My mom's friends call me "Squeaky." I think it's good because I'm not loud. I prefer to purr instead.

I can't wait to go to a forever home! I'm neutered, microchipped, healthy, vetted, and more! I want my new home to have a kind and playful male cat about my age to be my new bestie, and who would like to play-wrestle and chase toys, groom each other, and just have lots of fun together. And when we get tired we can both snuggle up together and at night cuddle with our new humans. That would be BLISS!

Please fill out the application to maybe come and meet me!
Born 8/1/23.
NOTE: Dukie is a wonderful companion but is not well-suited for homes with young children. He would do best in a quieter environment where he can feel safe and comfortable.

Additional adoption info

We do have an application form on our website. A home check is also done. We know our animals well and work hard to make sure the adoption will be a purr-fect match! We will be happy to answer your questions. We want an adoption to be the right fit for both the humans and the animal.

When you adopt a pet from us, you can rest assured that you are getting a pet who is much loved, well-cared for, and whom we know well. In turn, we know that an adopter will provide a loving, caring, home.

Cat adoptions are usually $125 each. Dog fees are based on breed. All are current on vaccinations and neutering. Some are microchipped. They are vetted again before delivery.

All of our adoptable cats and dogs are pictured on our website, with their videos, at www.lifelineforpets.org.
