Benjamin is a 1.5 year old beautiful Apricot Standard Poodle who is a bit skittish at first but once he warms up is great with people, kids & cats, and ok with dogs. He is very sweet, cuddly, smart & comes from a very loving home. His heartbroken former owner knew that Benjamin needed to find a home that was better suited for him as the weekends at the camp site were just too stressful for him as he can be insecure/nervous & defensive around unknown people and dogs until he gets to know them.
While at his foster’s at first he showed some jealousy around other dogs but once he settled, he became a very good & playful boy. He just wants to be loved and is a pro at cuddling next to you. His previous owner had about 7 grandchildren, with which there were never any issues as the had him he was a puppy. With a bit time and patience, he will be rubbing up on you and asking for pets.
Benjamin is looking for a home that understands that poodles are quite intelligent, and although very pretty dogs, they can be skittish. They need just as much exercise and structure as any dog to remain happy and balanced.
Sometimes a dog takes a little more time to open up, but you will see more and more of their personality over the course of the first few days, weeks or even months! We don’t know all that they’ve been through before they were rescued, but they are so forgiving and full of love and it’s worth every tough moment in the end. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescue dog is key & the most important thing. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement and love are the most important things!
Benjamin est un magnifique Caniche Royal de couleur abricot et est âgé de 1,5 an. Il est un peu nerveux au début mais devient génial avec les gens, les enfants et les chats, & correcte avec les chiens. Il est très doux, intelligent et adore se coller. Il vient d'une famille très aimante mais malgré cela, son ancien propriétaire a décidé, avec le cœur brisé, que Benjamin devait trouver une maison/famille qui lui convenait mieux car les week-ends au camping étaient tout simplement trop stressants pour lui car il peut être peu nerveux et défensif face aux inconnus et chiens, mais une fois qu’il les connaît tranquillement, tout ce place.
Durant les semaines chez sa famille d'accueil, il a d'abord montré une certaine jalousie envers les autres chiens, mais une fois installé, il est devenu un bon garçon et jouait bien avec les autres chiens. Il veut juste être aimé et est un pro des câlins collés à vos côtés. Son ancien propriétaire avait 7 petits-enfants, avec lesquels il n'a jamais eu de problèmes. Il l’avait depuis qu’il était un chiot. Avec un peu de temps et de patience, il se collera à vous.
Benjamin cherche un foyer qui comprend que les caniches sont intelligents et que, bien que très jolis chiens, ils peuvent parfois être nerveux. Ils ont besoin d’autant d’exercice et de structure que n’importe quel chien pour rester heureux et équilibré.
Parfois, un chien prends un peu plus de temps à apprivoiser, mais vous remarquerez, de plus en plus, que sa personnalité brillera de plus en plus au fil des jours, semaines et mois! Nous ne savons pas tout ce qu’ils ont vécu avant d’être secourus, mais ils sont tellement indulgents et pleins d’amour et chaque moment difficile en vaut l’effort. Développer une relation de confiance avec votre chien est essentiel et avec la stabilité, la patience, le renforcement positif et l’amour, tout se placera!
