My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adopt Iris! Iris was recently returned to us after spending a year in her adoptive home. She is back on the market and ready for a committed forever family

Iris is a 4 year old Rottweiler who joined us Spring 2023 from a hoarding case surrendered to one of our shelter partners. She lived with multiple dogs of size and gender and several cats prior to her shelter surrender. We were even fortunate enough to take several of her fur-siblings into the rescue with her! Unfortunately a recent incident with the resident feline led to her surrender — she is now seeking a cat free home.

Iris’ adoptive family noted what a loving, devoted dog she is. She is a “velcro” dog. She loves attention and physical contact.  She LOVES belly rubs & it’s her favorite thing.  Iris enjoys playing ball/fetch and enjoys swimming and playing in the water.  She wants to please and give love.

Iris is a big girl at 100 pounds & strong. She walks well on a prong collar or harness, but will need a handler ready for her size and strength. We would prefer to place her in a home without small children due to her physical demand.

Iris has resource guarded food around other animals in her last home. Although we know very manageable for most dog owners, we would ideally like to place her in a single pet home or an experienced home (preferably breed exp but open to similar) that may have a laid back dog. We only want to set this girl up for success.

Iris is a beautiful, loved girl. She’s ready for her next big adventure.. but only if it comes with XL- lovin

More about this rescue

Noah's Ark Rescue Project and Sanctuary (NARPS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization which is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need, as well as educating the public on important issues, and implementing low cost vaccination and sterilization clinics. Our goal is to address vital contributing factors which lead to the overpopulation of domesticated pets. Overbreeding and overpopulation directly affects the number of animals who find themselves in shelters and in need of rescuing. NARPS is currently operating mainly as a foster based program, with ambitions to eventually have a facility to house for our rescues. We are not a breed or species specific rescue, At NARPS, big & small, hooves & paws, we rescue them all!
