Lucy is a special gem of a cockatoo who is searching for a home that will return all the love she is so desperate to give. Estimated to be around 14 years old, Lucy came from a very loving family and is a completely hand-tame bird who enjoys snuggling, cuddling, and, of course...screaming. Because of her noise level, she would not be suitable for an apartment or a home with shared walls. Like most cockatoos, Lucy thrives on routine, and her noise level can be managed with a schedule, lots of toys, and some snacks. For a family who is searching for a personable companion who will always be ready for attention, this cockatoo is the perfect addition! Lucy has a few favorite favorite words and phrases She will call out "Hello!" in a sweet southern accent, address herself by her nickname "B" ("Hello B" "Good girl, B"), and mimic a pirate ("Arrr!"). Lucy is positive for Avian Bornavirus (like lots of captive parrots) and although the only symptom she has is her occasional foot-picking, she will need an established relationship with an avian veterinarian in her future home to keep a close eye on her health. Adoption fee: $600
