My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

Orla graduated from Paws in Prison last week. She has her canine good citizen certificate. She knows basic commands and is house trained. Don’t miss out on this gem! She is with a foster family in New England. PLEASE SH@RE!
More about her-
Orla is an absolute sweetheart. She is about 9-10 months old. She is good with other dogs. She hasn’t been around kids but would likely be fine as she is a sweet, happy girl. We don’t know her breed, but probably very mixed. She weighs about 40 pounds and probably won’t get much bigger.
When she came into rescue, we named her Orla but while at Paws in Prison (PIP), they called her Luna and that is what she responds to so that is what her foster is calling her. She is a little timid when meeting new people but warms up very quickly. She loves chew toys. She gets along great with the other dogs in the house. There were a couple of accidents on the day she got to her foster home but otherwise she is house trained.
While at PIP, her inmate trainers wrote a journal with all kinds of info on her and will go with her when she is adopted. Some info from her PIP journal:
✍️She learned basic commands like sit, down, stay & wait, front, side & heel, up & off. Her trainers taught her the trick “shakedown”. While pointing to the wall and giving her the command “shakedown” she will put her paws on the wall and wait to be patted down.
✍️She was not a fan of being on a leash when she entered PIP but her trainer did great work with her because she does great on a leash now.
✍️Her trainer also found out she is not a fan of water and therefore is not a fan of bath time.
She is heartworm negative, spayed, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

More about this rescue

Adopt-A-Stray was founded in Jan. 2010, by Kelley Prichard. Since then, it has grown to include a few wonderful volunteers who work very hard to help ensure that our pets are place in loving, forever homes. We are based in Alexander, AR, but we list all of our available pets in the northeast. We work with several different transporters to get our babies to their new homes in the northeast once they are adopted. The transporter we use most often Pack Leaders (www.plrdogtransport.com). All pets are given age appropriate vaccinations before they leave. Every pet is seen by our vet prior to transport. If you see a pet listed that interests you, please be sure to read the description thoroughly and inquire to the email address listed. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
