My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sting!

This handsome pup was briefly adopted from HSoP, but didn't get along with the other dog in the home. Now he's available for adoption and looking for a new home to spend his days! We estimate Sting to be around 1 year old. Since Sting did not get along with the dog in his previous home, we're recommending he go to a home with no other dogs at this time. We don't know how Sting does around cats, but it's very likely he would try to chase them.

Sting earned his named from the stingray-shaped marking on his back. It's pretty distinct! Sting is nervous about the other dogs in our care, but has grown worlds more comfortable with our staff. He absolutely lights up when he gets to have one-on-one play time away from the noise of the dog kennels! Watching him get the zoomies is such a treat. Sting loves volunteers and makes new friends within just a few seconds!

He's an incredibly athletic dog and has the energy to go for miles. Sting can run, jump, he could probably even climb if given the chance! We think he could make an excellent companion for outdoor adventures. Being the energetic muscle-head he is, Sting will require daily walks or access to a secure outdoor area to ensure his exercise needs are being met each day. He could also benefit from mentally-engaging activities, like kongs, slow feeders, frozen treats, and snuffle mats.

One thing that sting will need help with is potty training. This is something that is much easier to learn in a home environment, with consistent reminders and opportunities to go potty outside. Sting will sit on command for treats and absolutely loves being told how good of a boy he is when he listens! He would likely respond well to continued training in his new home, as it would give him something positive to focus on.

Sting is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and will leave HSoP with a microchip containing his new owner's information. Those interested in Sting should come visit him at HSoP! Our dog kennels are open from 2:00-5:00pm Monday through Saturday with no appointments needed. Sting's adoption fee is $135.

Adopters must live in a pet-friendly environment with proof from their landlord or rental agency, or proof of homeownership. We contact the landlord or rental agency of each potential adopter to confirm the animal is being adopted into a welcoming space.

We require introductions between our available dogs and any other canines living in the household prior to adoption. This helps to ensure a good fit for the whole family before taking them home.
