Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
After Lucky Blue was surrendered to Chesterfield Square Shelter in Los Angeles by his owners for unknown reasons, we scooped him up to become a Frosted Face on June 24th. He is 11 years old and weighs 73 lbs. Lucky Blue is super sweet, gentle, and friendly to everyone he meets: humans of all ages, other dogs, and even cats!
Lucky Blue has great manners and know a variety of commands, including sit, come, and lie down. He enjoys going for walks and on our weekly FFF hikes. Lucky Blue has pep in his step and the stamina to do a 3+ mile hike!
Lucky Blue has been on several two-week Frosted Flings. He has earned rave reviews in every fling home being a well-behaved, loving, and house-trained guest. His current fling is really highlighting what an amazing boy he is. Lucky Blue is living in an apartment with two senior dogs that are much smaller than him AND a cat!
His Fling Mom reports:
"There is such a gentleness about Lucky. He is a quiet boy, gentle giant, an old soul.
* In my home, I have my own personal dog and cat and another little foster dog. Lucky Blue cohabitates well with everyone. He is not pushy nor overpowering, and at his size, he could easily be. But he is sweet and gentle.
* Lucky Blue is house trained, no accidents in the house. I take him out first thing in the morning and then about every 4 to 5 hours during the day. He stays dry all night in his crate.
* He has a great appetite. He gets fed twice a day, and I found a kibble that he enjoys. Sometimes I add a little bit of canned vegetables or pumpkin pure.
* Lucky Blue loves several little walks per day, and he must smell each and every blade of grass. He's a good walker with good manners. He will react just a little bit if another dog is acting out of sorts, but I think he's just trying to protect me. He is easily re-directed.
* I have a big bed and cozy blanket for Lucky Blue to rest on during the day. I do put him in his crate during the noonish hour for a nap and time out. And at night, I do kennel him. He is quiet all night until it's time to get up in the morning.
* Lucky Blue passed his cat test at Frosted Faces and is interested in my cat just because he's friendly. No reactivity or prey drive on his end.
* He loves to take rides in the car. For a little bit, he's up with his head out the window but will settles down quickly to sleep. I have him buckled in the back for his safety.
* I believe Lucky Blue would be happiest in a home with at least one other animal with the same temperament. He is very social and loves company. On-site at FFF, he is part of the lobby yard group which consists of 10 or more dogs.
* When I go out the door, I can hear him whimper a little bit, but he soon settles down.
Anyone would be truly blessed with the companionship of a true blue dog such as Lucky Blue."
