Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gabby is a sweet and beautiful 13-year-old purebred Yorkie weighing 13 pounds and she's looking for a loving home to live out her golden years (which, based on her spunkiness, may be many!). After losing her beloved human daddy, Gabby was nearly put to sleep by her previous family, but thanks to a caring vet, she was surrendered to the rescue instead.
Gabby is a gentle soul who gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and all people (men and women), including kids! She's currently in a foster home with two Chihuahuas and is great with them.
She’s an easygoing and confident gal who loves spending time outdoors, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. Gabby didn't get the memo that she's 13 as she has a lot more energy and zest for life than one might typically expect! She is OBSESSED with walks! She gets very excited when it's time to go out and she walks quickly on a leash and with great manners. She will walk next to you and never pulls. She can easily do a mile walk at a given time and often skips down the block with glee! She gets a lot of attention from people on the street because she's so cute. She loves sniffing and exploring the city streets, politely saying hello to doggie friends, and very much enjoys Central Park. She has no fear of city noises in the slightest (and no, she's not deaf either!).
In fact, Gabby LOVES food and when she hears the treat bag open, she comes running and will make it clear she wants one - NOW! She will sometimes jump with excitement. She isn't picky with her food or her treats and will stare at you with her mouth open, showing off her 2 remaining teeth in hopes that you might consider dropping her another tasty morsel. When she's done eating, she smacks her lips with satisfaction. She's so adorable!
Gabby is well-behaved when guests come to the house. She says hello politely, makes her rounds, and then will happily sit with everyone and observe. She does not bark at guests, both doggie or human.
Gabby likes people and pets but is also happy to sit at your feet while you work, etc. She is just happy to be in the same room as her humans and does not demand attention at all times.
Gabby knows when it's time for bed and sleeps through the night without fail. When she's down, she's down! She is equally happy to sleep on a towel or on a small doggie bed. And you will know when she's in the deepest of sleep because her tongue hangs all the way out and she snores lightly! It's too cute!
Gabby is also excellent in a car and will settle down almost immediately and quietly nap during the entirety of the ride.
With her adorable big silky ears, endearing windblown look and a tongue that hangs out, Gabby is sure to melt your heart. She's a senior with a lot of personality and a lot of life left!
She’s hoping to find a forever family who will give her all the love and comfort she deserves and hopefully that is you!
