My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gordie came to Alive from a volunteer who found him tied to a park bench in 90+ weather. Thankfully, this sweet boy is thriving in a foster home and is ready to find his furever! This three-year-old goofball loves to cuddle up on the couch and will make you laugh all day long.

His favorite things are stuffie toys (for as long as they last against him), chasing balls, and naps in the sun. Like a true Olympian, Gordie has received a gold medal in potty training and being a good boy inside and outside the house. This smartie has even mastered several commands like sit, down, and pick it up.

He has loads of fun running around and going on long walks, but he takes his naps very seriously as well - this boy will match whatever energy you put out.

He'd do well in a home with a busy family-the more people around to give him the love and attention he craves (and dishes right back to you), the better. He is a true family dog who does great with cats, too!

More about this rescue

ALIVE Rescue is a sustainable animal rescue group committed to protecting the lives and rights of animals. We believe that every animal has the right to a well-balanced, socialized and fulfilled life. We take on the responsibility to save, rehabilitate and place abandoned, abused and stray animals. Our rescue permanently houses and cares for the animals that cannot be placed into forever homes for the duration of their natural lives. We provide medical, behavioral and physical support for animals despite their age, health, and/or breed. At ALIVE Rescue, we promote sustainable living and care-giving by building awareness, appreciation and respect for all animals and the environment within our communities. We constantly work to educate the public on current animal issues, including the benefits of spaying/neutering pets.

Since our formation in 2008, ALIVE Rescue has rescued more than 1,600 animals in the Chicago area.
