My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there, future family! I'm Howard, a dashing 2-year-old Lab/Rottweiler mix with a heart as big as my paws. I'm a delightful blend of Labrador loyalty and Rottweiler resilience, wrapped in a coat that's perfect for petting.

Why You'll Love Me:

Crate-trained Champion: Whether it's nap time or night time, I see my crate as my cozy den. It's my little kingdom where I rule with a gentle paw. No fuss, no muss—just pure relaxation.

Leash Legend: Ever dream of a walking buddy who won’t drag you into every bush or tree? Well, dream no more! I stride beside you with the elegance of a runway model and the enthusiasm of a kid in a candy store. Walks with me are a breeze, and I've got the swagger to prove it.

Heart of Gold: My friends say I have a heart as golden as a Labrador and as strong as a Rottweiler. I love humans of all sizes, shapes, and smells. And yes, that includes your weird cousin who wears too much cologne.

Looking for:

A loving home where I can be part of the family. Whether you're a single adventurer looking for a loyal sidekick, a family needing a furry friend, or a couple ready to expand their pack—I'm the perfect addition. I promise to bring laughter, love, and a whole lot of tail wags into your life.

If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. The shelter will contact individuals as they appear on the list.

Ask about adoption transportation assistance if you do not live in the local area.

The adoption fee is $95 and you receive certificates for $50 towards spay/neuter and $10 towards rabies vaccine if not already done. All dogs are heartworm tested, receive a DHLPP, flea and tick treatment, a bordetella vaccination and are dewormed.
