That’s Tula!
We are looking for a person and/or family who would be willing to give Tula a home filled with love and care as she will certainly do this for you! Tula is truly special! Here is her story as we know.
When we came across her, she was completely broken and would barely lift her head and could hardly hold herself up as she had been found pregnant, emaciated, and with three broken bones in her wrist and her left front leg. Her depressed and sad eyes told a story of the many street dogs in Zihuatenajo that SFS encounters. With all her pain and distrust of the world that failed her, she still warmed up so quickly to all of us and was so honored to be safe that we knew had to help this sweet girl.
She settled in at SFS, who gave her the love and comfort she had not known in so long, if ever. Slowly she opened up, seeking out affection and wagging her tail at all the humans that have cared for her. As the sadness left her eyes and was replaced with hope, we knew she still had a lot of fight in her to live. Thanks to a generous sponsor, she has been nursed back to health and will soon be ready to join the family of her dreams!
She is approximately 2.5 years old and has gained weight as she is now 40lbs. Her bones are healing nicely and she will soon be cast-free after biweekly cast changes for many months. She has been spayed and received all her vaccines and a clean bill of health! This loving girl has been through so much in her short life, she deserves a home that will be patient, compassionate and full of love to give as she continues to heal physically and emotionally. Please, if anyone knows of someone who will have the greatest love and joy from a beautiful soul of a dog please reach out for her adoption.
Thank you all kindly for helping us change the life of Tula, our warrior.
