Hello there! My name is Penelope and I am an adorable, friendly, and smart puppy with a lot of love to give! My affectionate and playful nature makes me the perfect companion for anyone who's looking for a fun and furry friend. People often describe me as curious and funny because I love to explore, but I also have moments where I exhibit independence. Rest assured, my curiosity only extends to sniffing around new spaces and I have been socialized with other dogs, so I am very well-behaved! I love to play, run, and explore, so if you're an outdoorsy type of person, you're in for a treat because I am a very athletic puppy. I am a puppy that is full of energy and I'm always ready to pounce into your arms and give you lots of kisses. If you're looking for a furry friend who will make you laugh and smile, then look no further! I am sure we are going to have a blast together, so please come and meet me.

More about this rescue
So MD Animal Rescue is an organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and finds homes for abandoned, injured, sick, abused, and neglected shelter and stray dogs. Once a dog is rescued they are place with us or with a foster family where they receive any medical care and rehabilitation needed to get them ready for adoption. After that, we go to work networking the dogs through various outlets to find them their forever family.
Our organization is based on the premise that all dogs deserve a forever, loving home and that we are here to help them do that.
We also believe that sometimes pet owners fall on hard times and need help temporarily to keep from having to give up their pet. In these cases, we do what we can to help these pet owners keep their pets by providing food and other supplies or financial assistance for needed vet care.
We also strongly advocate for spay/neuter and proper animal care. We provide information to the community about spay/neuter assistance programs, financial aid programs to help with expenses for pets during unexpected illness, information about heartworm prevention and treatment, contact information for local wildlife rescues, and any other information that is needed.
I first started out by volunteering at my local humane society after adopting my first shelter dog in 1990 Through the adoption process I learned how animal shelters work and the struggles they encounter. I have always loved animals, especially dogs, and wanted to help. After many, many years of volunteering and being a pet owner, in 2014, I was finally in a position to start my own rescue.
Our mission is to continue providing all of these services to save the lives of as many dogs as possible until, hopefully, one day, we won't have to.
