Meet delightful Wriggley, a three-year-old 35-pound energetic golden colored whippet mix that loves hanging out with his people and playing with other dogs. Wriggley is very smart, very trainable, and would love to be challenged by activities such as agility. When not playing, Wriggley loves to snuggle with his people.
Wriggley is working through some anxiousness around loud noises and sudden events. In addition, Wriggly isn’t a fan of being left alone. Wriggley was an owner turn in, due to the owners no longer being able to spend sufficient time with him. Since coming to our rescue, Wriggley has been working with a trainer and has made great strides in working through his sensitivities. He can now be left alone for periods of time and is less reactive to sudden events. Wriggley’s adopter should be willing to continue working with the trainer to assure that Wriggley keeps making great progress. He has been working on crate training and can remain in his crate for longer periods of time to nap and rest.
Wriggley is housebroken and has good house manners. He gets along well with the other dogs, both larger and smaller, and loves to play! Having another dog playmate helps soothe his anxiousness. Wriggley also walks well on a leash, even with another dog beside him.
With his love of play, a home with a yard is necessary. Wriggley’s ideal home would consist of a calm environment with people who are committed to continuing his training for overcoming anxiety. He would love another well-adjusted dog playmate that he can learn good behaviors from. He will thrive in an environment where he gets lots of mental stimulation. Older kids would be ok, but we would like to avoid younger kids to keep the environment calm. He also should not be placed with cats, as he loves to chase them.
If you believe your home is the perfect match for me, please make sure you have first submitted an adoption application (https://scgrrescue.org/adoption-app/) and completed your home interview with a SCGRRescue Volunteer. Then, tell my personal representative (aka Rep) more about why we are a great match via email at tenspiceygoldens@gmail.com
Please note: We are only able to cover and adopt out to residents of Southern California.
Adoption fee: $600.00
