Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Skyler came from the Prince George’s County Animal Shelter, where she could not be adopted within the county due to being labeled a “pit bull mix” in a county with breed-specific laws 😔. Skyler wasn’t in the best health, but once cleared she was able to meet the resident dogs, meet people outside of the home and go on walks!
In her foster home Skyler goes to family gatherings, goes hiking, and enjoys car rides (and boating!). Skyler is a medium energy, happy and enthusiastic girl who loves her daily walks (with lots of sniffing), zoomies around the yard, and a game of fetch (we won’t guarantee she’ll bring the ball back…but she will chase it!), but also likes lounging in the sun and watching you work at the computer, or cook. Skyler is a quick learner and enjoys learning new things! Skyler stands in the bathtub for baths and nail trims, and has been very good for the vet, despite everything she’s been through.
Her favorite things are squeaky toys, hikes in the woods, and car rides. Skyler is an excellent co-pilot and calmly watches the world go by while riding in the car.
She is house-trained and crate-trained. Skyler is friendly with the dogs in her foster home, but her play style is rambunctious (too much for the resident Pomeranian mix) so any canine companions should be larger, friendly male dogs who are not offended by rambunctious play! Skyler would do best in a home either without children, or with older children.
Skyler can be fearful when meeting new people, and takes a few minutes to warm up to strangers. She goes to family gatherings, approaches people slowly, as she feels comfortable, and loves everyone by the end of the night.
Skyler is ready to find a home of her own! If you'd like to add Skyler and her happiness and zest for life to your family, please contact Pitties and Purrs!
