My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cher is a 4-year-old absolute LOVE BUG who is currently in foster care. We've had the pleasure of taking her on hikes and having her over for sleepovers—she’s truly a darling and SOOOO sweet! Cher loves to be with people, and you'll fall in love with her instantly. She is fully housebroken and crate-trained, and she doesn't make a peep in her crate. Cher is great with cats—she's curious about them but shows no issues, as you can see in her photos. Weighing about 40 pounds, Cher is a perfect medium-sized pup. Cher has been through a lot and enjoys the company of other dogs. She plays beautifully with them and has no food issues—she politely waits her turn for treats! Though she needs some work on leash walking, she’s already making great strides. Cher is spayed, medically healthy, and up to date on her vetting. If you’re looking for a TOTAL SWEETHEART to add to your family, Cher is ready to be your loyal and loving companion for life! Apply on www.aaha-rescue.orgSeptember 14, 2024, 10:29 am

Go meet their pets

We are a rescue that is dependent on volunteers as we do not have a physical building. We rent space at a kennel in Upperco, Md. If you would like to meet one of our dogs please contact us to make arrangements. Thanks!

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
