My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a snuggly, cheerful, playful, loving pup? Andrea is your girl! This girl is so ready for love - to give and to receive. When her tail wags, her whole body wags. She's simply a happy, friendly, love of a dog who would thrive with many different types of families. Her personality really comes out when she's home with her people and has settled in for a few days. She's great with kids, kind and appropriate with other dogs on or off leash, seems fine with cats, likes car rides, and is fully house trained. Things she loves - going for walks (she's an active adventure girl who walks nicely on her harness); playing with her family; snuggling into cozy blanketed nests with her family or on her own; learning tricks for treats (she's a quick learner and food motivated); nylabone chews; lounging and watching tv with her family. She sleeps happily through the night curled up on her dog bed. She does great with a few good walks/day, some playtime, and a quick trip out at night just before bed. It is likely she used to be a deer hunting dog from somewhere Carolina and her original training and breeding kicks in when she sees them. With assertive guidance, she's doing a good job keeping her emotions in check with the occasional deer, but she would likely do best in suburban settings where she is less likely to encounter reminders of her prior life to up her level of contentment in her new home. Andrea is just the best and we are sure you will completely agree!
**Volunteer Dog Walker feedback: "Walked at a leisurely pace after the first few minutes. Kept her nose to the ground smelling everything as she walked. Loved to be petted".

Additional adoption info

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.

If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org

Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.

Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue

Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.

We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
