My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"A dog's love is unconditional, pure, and 100% genuine. They are the epitome of true love and loyalty." This makes us think of our dear Rocky.

Why we love Rocky: He is so joyful and his zest for life inspires all of us!

Handsome, happy-go-lucky Rocky is a one year old, 60 pound sweetheart. He is such a happy, energetic and active young dog who loves everyone! Rocky has the most adorable grin, and we love his happy face!

Rocky adores his time outdoors, and would do great in a home with a fenced yard where he can get the exercise he needs. He absolutely loves to play and zooms around in total joy. Rocky is also an enthusiastic companion on daily walks, and he is so curious about his surroundings. He would be a great hiking or running buddy, too.

Rocky loves to play with toys and especially enjoys games of tug of war.

He has enjoyed play outings with his favorite shelter buddy, Peyton. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility.

One of Rocky's favorite things is to hang out and enjoy your company. He loves to be petted and is a great cuddle buddy. Rocky is a sought after companion at the shelter and we love spending time with him.

Rocky is a great combination of active and chill!

He is a bright dog who should master any commands you wish to teach him.

Rocky recently represented the shelter at an offsite adoption event and had a wonderful time! He did us proud!

Rocky will be the BEST family dog! Like his movie namesake, our Rocky is truly a champion!

We are so grateful to Carla Miles for her beautiful photos of our dogs and cats!

More about this shelter

Cheatham County Animal Control is committed to finding good homes for the animals that come into the shelter system. We work with rescues and adopters. We are a no kill shelter but we rely on people coming in to adopt!

All of our cats/dogs receive vaccinations that are appropriate for the age and health when they are at animal control. We also spay and neuter all of our animals. The adopter is responsible for all vaccinations and medical care after adoption.
