My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are interested in one of our dogs, please complete an application on line at www.ahome4everrescue.org

Flower & Skunk are a bonded pair of Affenpinscher mix, a German breed of Pinscher and Schnauzer dogs, and these two represent all the best traits of the breed: they are loving, active, adventurous, curious and playful.  The breed was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1936 and a 5 year old Affenpinscher won best of show in 1936.  They are confident, lively, affectionate toward family members and protective of them. They love to play with toys and will keep you entertained.  A DNA test is pending and we will update on receipt of the results.

How they wound up in a shelter needing rescue, we don't know but we are glad we could help and they are now looking for their forever home.  Flower & Skunk are very social, love their walks, and are a volunteer favorite.  They are a bonded pair, do everything together, and we are seeking to place them in a home together.

Skunk, the male, is about 30lbs and Flower, the female, is about 20 lbs. Both are 3 years old and on the larger side of the breed which is why we believe they are likely mixed.

They are mostly quiet but can get excited and bark.   One of the great things about this breed is that they are hypoallergenic and they do not get fleas.

If you would look to know more about Flower and Skunk, please complete an application on line at www.ahome4everrescue.org and we will be happy to set a time for you to meet them.  These dogs are ready to bring years of unconditional love and companionship to your family.

Come meet our dogs on Saturdays at PetSmart in Costa Mesa from 11:30-2:30. All A Home 4 Ever Rescue dogs receive a wellness exam by our veterinarian and are up to date with vaccinations. They are spayed or neutered and microchipped before they go to their adoptive families. If you would like more information please email the Adoption Director at muellenbergerin@gmail.com

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with an application followed by an interview. If all goes well we will proceed with a home visit. At the time of the home visit we will bring the dog with us. If the home is safe, you will complete the adoption contract, pay the adoption fee and we will leave your new family member with you at that time.

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are in Orange County on every Saturday. We also can make special arrangements during the week when it is impossible for someone to come on the weekends. Our goal is to pair up good pet parents with loving dogs in need.

More about this rescue

Our dogs are rescued from what is called "death row" at the city and county shelters, from a life abandoned on the streets, or from other situations of neglect and cruelty. While in our care they receive love, rehabilitation and medical care, if needed, and grooming. Since we are a small group, we are always in need of donations of any kind.
