My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meela is a beautiful one-year old female Labrador Retriever mix who arrived at the HSOV on June 20, 2024 after she was picked up on Cats Creek Road in the Lowell Ohio area by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden. Meela was not wearing a collar, and she was not microchipped.

This little lovebug has a black short smooth coat with a small patch of white on her chest, a long tail, and an adorable face with dark brown eyes, a black button nose on her slender muzzle, and short floppy ears.

Meela has a sweet, super friendly personality and appears to love attention.

Meela weighs 41 lbs.

These photos were taken on June 21, 2024 when Meela was spending a little time in a covered/shaded outdoor kennel while her indoor kennel was being cleaned. Meela is a social butterfly who was anxious to make the acquaintance of the dogs who were in adjacent kennels .. And also to politely beg for attention from our photographer (or perhaps to play a game watching her attempt to take pictures through the fencing). Meela would come running to whichever side the 'paparazzi' was on and stick her cute nose through the fencing.

So although these pictures are very marginal in quality, we hope that they will somehow provide a sense of Meela's cuteness and sweet personality.

We will take more flattering photos at the first opportunity when the temperatures are more conducive to outdoor pictures.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Meela will be held for three days so that her family will have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership.
