My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Salix is a very special flame point Siamese mix with beautiful blue eyes, one of which has a scar from a corneal ulcer. Salix is the botanical name for pussy willow and they are very willow like in look and movement - sleek and graceful and full of love to give.

Salix and siblings got off to a bad start. Their mom was a gentle girl who was on her own but being fed by a kind man who cared for the little family. However, he was at a loss when they became sick with an upper respiratory and eye infections. By the time he found Sunshine's Friends and brought them to us the kittens really needed help. With proper treatment and good nutrition Salix and siblings bounced back pretty quickly but a few of the kittens had damage to their cornea. The family of kittens has been to our vet and all have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and given a clean bill of health.

Salix and brothers are now ready to go to their forever homes and bring happiness to the lucky people who adopt them.

We take applications and review them. We have adopters meet our dogs/cats and our staff. We have an adoption contract to sign. Our adoption fees are usually $150 (cats) / $200 (dogs) which includes vet fees for spay/neuter and vaccinations.
