My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Lumi, and I'm one special lady. Yes, you heard that right: I'm a medium haired, orange, polydactyl female! Phew, that's a lot of genes all coming together for some very unique traits!

I've been a wonderful and patient momma to my one kitten, Lumos (if ya know, ya know . Otherwise, Google 'single kitten syndrome.'). Now that she's older, we're ready to find our forever homes (together would be fun, but separately is ok too).

I came from an outdoor cat colony, and I'm still getting used to living indoors with humans. Sometimes I get overstimulated when you pet me, but I'm learning to enjoy human company and my foster family has seen me warm up so much! Imagine how comfortable and safe I'll feel when I have a family of my own!

I'm good with cats and respectful dogs. I would not do well in a home with very young kids at this time due to sometimes feeling particular about being pet for too long.

Please fill out an adoption application to meet me, and my peeps will contact your peeps!

Consider adopting 2 kittens! There are many benefits including:

- One kitten can become lonely and bored

- Two kittens will keep each other busy

- Having two kittens is very entertaining!

- You’ll have fewer behavioral issues with two kittens

- You’ll save TWO lives instead of just one

- Adoption fee is discounted for the 2nd kitten

If you are interested in adopting one of our wonderful cats or kittens, you can apply on our website:    https://www.commcat.org/copy-of-adopt-a-bff

Please allow several days for us to process your application. We are a small, all-volunteer group and we are doing our best to work quickly! After the application is processed we will make arrangements for you to meet the cats that interest you. All of our cats and kittens are raised in our homes and live with us until they are adopted. They live with us as part of our families so we know them very well and we can help you find your perfect cat! Cats are rarely caged (only if its medically necessary) so you can visit with them and see how they act in a home.

Our adoption fees:

Kittens (under 6 months): $150 (or 2 for $225)

Adults (6 months to 7 years): $75 (or 2 for $100)

Seniors (8 years and up): $40 (or 2 for $60)

All cats are spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, vaccinated for rabies (if age appropriate) and distemper, and microchipped.

Go meet their pets

We are completely foster home based and do not cage our cats unless medically necessary. Because we are foster home based, we require an approved application on file and will then make arrangements for you to meet that special cat or kitten!

More about this rescue

We are a cat advocacy group dedicated to ending feline overpopulation in our area. Our purpose is to help owned and unowned cats in our area by facilitating high quality, high volume, low cost spay/neuter services; helping caregivers to find resources to keep and humanely care for their cats; and providing care to cats in need, especially those who may not find help elsewhere.
