My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tumtum is a gentle and reserved cat who values tranquility and prefers a serene environment. She is content spending her days lounging by a sunny window, where she can watch the world go by and soak in the warmth of the sun. Tumtum enjoys quiet companionship and is known for her thoughtful demeanor and observant nature.

While she may be initially reserved, Tumtum warms up quickly to those who earn her trust. She appreciates gentle affection and will gladly curl up beside you for quiet moments of companionship. Tumtum's calm presence makes her an ideal companion for someone seeking a peaceful and relaxed pet to share their home.

Tumtum would thrive in a calm and loving household where she can be the sole recipient of attention. She prefers to be the only pet in the home, as she enjoys having her space and undivided attention from her human companions. Tumtum would be happiest in a home where she can have access to windows with a view, allowing her to indulge in her favorite pastime of birdwatching and observing outdoor activities.

Tumtum is ready to find her forever home where she can continue to enjoy her quiet moments of contemplation and receive the love and attention she deserves. If you're looking to add a gentle and reserved feline companion to your life, Tumtum could be the perfect match for you.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
