My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member

Why this pet is the one for you:

Meet Flora, a sweet and sensitive girl ready for a loving home. Although initially shy and cautious during her stay with us, Flora has quickly warmed up to familiar handlers and loves joining them for walks. Flora has blossomed under the care of our Behavior & Training team, but she still prefers a quiet environment with people she is most comfortable with. Her perfect adopter would be someone who is patient and willing to facilitate gradual introductions to new people, allowing Flora to build trust at her own pace. Once she feels safe, Flora bonds deeply and shows her affectionate and playful side. If you're ready to offer Flora the loving, supportive home she deserves, she is excited to meet you and embark on a journey of companionship and mutual joy.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
