My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, everyone! I’m Marge, a 1.5-year-old female Pit Bull with a striking blue coat and eyes that tell a thousand stories. Life hasn’t always been kind to me, and I’ve had a rough start, but I’m still a loving and hopeful girl.

The shelter environment has been a bit overwhelming for me, causing me some stress and anxiety. Thankfully, the amazing staff and dedicated volunteers have been working tirelessly to help me feel more at ease. Their support has made a big difference, and I’m learning to trust and relax more each day.

I have a special bond with my BEST FRIEND, Taylor. Taylor knows me inside and out and would be thrilled to share all the details about what I need to thrive in a forever home. With the right support, I believe I can overcome my anxieties and become the loving companion I’m meant to be.

Though I may be a bit timid around new people and situations at first, patience and understanding are all I need to open up. I deeply value human connection and just want to be around those who care for me. If you can offer a patient and loving home, I’d be incredibly grateful for the chance to show you the loyal and affectionate friend I can be.

Could you be the one to give me the forever home I’ve been dreaming of? Let’s start our journey together and make some beautiful memories.

More about this shelter

Volunteers needed now. Are you an animal lover, do you have a couple of hours each week to volunteer? Many opportunities available. Work with dogs, cats, bunnies, office work, fostering and more. For more details on volunteering contact Michelle Maltun at (805) 345-5741.

We care for stray and homeless animals, including cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, rabbits and other animals such as chickens, guinea pigs or iguanas. We always hope the family will come to reclaim their lost pet, but if not, we work to find a loving new family for them.

We ensure that dogs are current on their rabies vaccination and license.

At Animal Services, our goal is to ensure that all the animals in our County have a safe place to live. We work hard to find loving homes for the many dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals that come into our care. Together, with community partners and concerned citizens, we are making sure that all these animals have a "Forever Home!"
