Jenny von Jestetten is a beautiful, 12-14 month-old, smaller-sized German Shepherd. This loving girl with the megawatt smile is sweet and engaging. An eager learner, she is house broken and crate-trained, and knows her "Sit" and "Down" commands. Somewhat smaller in size at approx. 50 pounds, she does well on leash. Jenny enjoys the outdoors. She looks forward to sniffing out new smells and meeting new friends. Jenny has a sweet personality and she likes to lean in close for all-over scratches. ” She takes treats gently and praise well, especially when it accompanies a head scratch. Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
