Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
This helps Humane Society of Truckee Tahoe with pet care costs.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lulu is a big goofy gal with a heart of gold. Lulu’s overall demeanor is mellow and easy-going, with the occasional burst of excitement. Lulu’s favorite thing to do is hang out with her people, and she has no problem saying hello to strangers, although she may get some drool on them! Lulu’s smile brightens up any room. She has an affectionate personality to go with her adorable looks. She isn’t always aware of her own size and sometimes thinks she’s a lap dog. Sometimes she jumps up to say hello, but this is just out of excitement to see you. Lulu can become stressed around other dogs and children, and for these reasons, she will need to go to an adults-only home with no other pets.
Lulu is spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on her vaccines. Plus her adoption fee has been waived! Please email adoptions@hstt.org for more information.
*We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each dog based on personality and the behavior we’ve observed rather than a breed label.

Pet ownership is a serious responsibility. The policy of the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is to ensure that each person who adopts a pet not only is aware of the responsibility, but that each person is willing and able to accept that responsibility morally, physically and financially. Not every person who desires to own a pet should own a pet.
The adoption application is designed to help us make the best placement possible — the right home for each animal and the right animal for your home. The adoption process takes time because we are committed to giving you all the information and support you need to have a successful adoption. We ask for your patience and cooperation in the joyful process of bringing people and animals together.
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN ADOPTION, YOU MUST:
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Provide a suitable confined area for the animal.
• Understand that the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe reserves the right to deny any adoption.
Our adoption fees are as follows: Dogs (over four months) = $110.00 Puppies (under four months) = $160.00 Cats (over four months) = $75.00 Kittens (under four months) = $100.00 Adoption fees will be due upon completion of adoption. Cash, check or credit cards are gladly accepted.

The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is dedicated to saving and improving the lives of pets through adoption, community spay/neuter and humane education programs. Founded in 1994 by a group of committed volunteers, the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe has become the driving force in animal rescue and adoption for the Truckee region.
