Babs is a beautiful soul who has come a long way on her journey to trust humans again. When she first came to us, it was clear she had been through a lot, but with time and patience, she's learned to open her heart. Now, all she really wants is someone who will give her gentle pets, shower her with love, and tell her that she's "A Good Girl".
Babs is looking for a home that understands her need for patience and kindness. She gets along well with other cats after a proper introduction and is good with children who can respect her boundaries.
Her favorite activities include chasing laser pointers, batting around tinsel balls or catnip fish, lounging on the back of the couch, and telling you how much she wants pets. She also enjoys gazing out the window, watching critters in the yard.

The Heart of America Humane Society is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization helping to place shelter and foster animals into permanent homes in and around the greater Kansas City metro area.
Our goal is to save and improve the lives of Kansas City's homeless companion animals by promoting responsible pet ownership. The Heart of America Humane Society (HAHS) partners with the Lee's Summit Animal Shelter (Lee's Summit MO) and KCK Animal Services (Kansas City KS) to increase pet adoptions into responsible, permanent homes.

Our organization does not have a permanent facility or paid staff, so many of our adoptions take place at PetSmart stores and occasionally through other event venues. Some events raise awareness and bring in donations for our animal support efforts, while others help acknowledge and show appreciation for our own volunteers (who perform all duties outside of their regular jobs).
