Meet Joel, a 1 year old, 60 pound mixed breed. Just one look at his pictures and videos and you can see he’s a big sweet goofball.
Joel has love for everyone he meets, even though he’d be forgiven for feeling a little unloved himself. Despite only being 1 year old, Joel’s been given up twice, through no fault of his own - first because his family had to move into an apartment, and then because his next family didn’t feel they had enough time for him when a new baby arrived. Nevertheless, Joel still seeks and freely gives affection.
Joel is a smart boy who can learn quickly. Which is great, because he does need training to improve his manners and manage his high energy levels. He’d do best with an owner who has an active lifestyle. A fenced back yard would also be good for him.
Joel loves to play - with humans, with toys, and especially with other dogs. (He’d be a great brother to a similarly playful dog.) He does well on walks and loves his treats. He loves to lean into his person and to put his head on your lap. In addition to a forever home, Joel is looking for a foster! Do you have room in your heart for this smiling bundle of joy?
PAW places animals in the Washington DC/Baltimore metropolitan area only.
