My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Django is a 50lb, happy go lucky, super handsome 2-year-old Siberian husky. He is primarily grey and white with a beautiful party mask that he wears to show that he is ready to have some fun with his new family. Django is adoption ready: no separation anxiety, house trained, leash trained and couch cuddly. Django is a quiet calm husky but will alert you to oncoming fire trucks and ambulances with some quiet singing. If you are looking for a hiking, walking, cuddle buddy; Django is the dog for you. Django plays well with other mid-large dogs. I believe with a slow introduction, Django can coexist with a cat, although he was scared by one who jumped on him on a recent walk, Django can be redirected with a treat from birds, cats and squirrels.

Like all working breeds, despite his calm demeanor overall, Django will do best in a home where he can get daily exercise and mental stimulation. Django is preloaded with his vaccinations, and a rabies shot and even a microchip. He is neutered and impatiently waiting at Yolo County animal shelter to join you on your next adventures.

All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

*The shelter is currently open for adoptions by appointment only. Please email us at adoptycas@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting.
For other shelter services, please call us at (530) 668-5287*

To adopt you must have a photo ID and proof of your current address. If not on your ID then bring in a bill with your name and your current address. If you rent you must provide a lease clearly stating the pet policy or provide a name and phone number for your landlord so that we may confirm the pet policy. If you own your home you may provide a mortgage statement or property tax bill for proof.

You must be 18 years or older to adopt.

If you wish to adopt a dog and have other dog(s) at home, please bring them with you to the shelter so that they may meet. Even if your dog is wonderful with other dogs, many of the dogs at the shelter have come in as strays so we have no history on them and need to be sure they get along with your pet(s).

If you have any other questions, please go to www.yolocountysheriff.com or call the shelter for more information.
