Here's what the humans have to say about me:
To help us make a great fit for you, and any of our dogs as well, please include information about yourself(Home, family, yard/fence, work hours, other pets...) and/or use our application at sparrowdogs.com. Those emails will get the quickest response, we do the best we can, but if we have to follow up with an email asking you about yourself and waiting for a response, well, we have already moved on to the next email that has provided the details. We are doing the best we can to find the right home for each dog or cat, just need your help too! :
It's raining cats and dogs--and they end up all over the place!! Hazel just happened to be one little rain drop that was found all by herself and brought to animal control. She looked like she was more of a puddle, she was quite a mess. Her coat was long and tangled, matted and had formed little knots all down her back. Her nails were long and she was very thin. Yet despite her circumstances, Hazel has been a real trouper.
She is a sweet, loving, affectionate and gentle soul. She had been posted as a found pet, but there was not a person or family that was going to step forward and say that she was their girl. She obviously was someones little sweetheart at one time, you just don't get that sweet and loving with out someone at some point in your life that made you feel special. Well, wherever you are, Hazel is moving on and is looking for her happily ever after!!
She was at first estimated to be about 10 years old due to her condition. She does have some cataracts and some vision issues(but gets around amazingly!!). But, she also has some nice white teeth and a very perky and energetic personality. So...who knows. She could be in the 6ish range, which is what the vet that saw her said, we will go with that.
Hazel loves to spend her days romping outside with her pals. With this heat wave we have quick jaunts outside and she is always happy to come back inside and find a good chair or a lap to snuggle on. Hazel is a very ladylike dog, she is polite and gentle. But she is also fairly active, so she may not be the best for someone that is looking for a companion for a more sedentary lifestyle. She is a very special girl, she was so calm when I had to sheer her down. She will be fine with older kids, a home with another dog or two will be fine. We are looking for a home that will not leave her alone for long hours, she is looking for someone that she can pamper and love!!
Hazel's adoption fee is $300. Please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com
