My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Ganymede is available for adoption! Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet + greet! **

Hey there, folks! The name's Ganymede, named after one of Jupiter's moons, and I'm here to bring some goofball energy into your life! At 8 weeks old, I'm the fun-loving brother who's always ready to turn any moment into a playful adventure.

I'm known as the class clown of our little puppy crew. You'll often find me with a toy in my mouth, ready to play fetch or engage in a game of tug-of-war. I've got boundless energy and a zest for life that's contagious-I guarantee I'll keep you entertained with my antics and goofy expressions.

While I may be a bit of a goofball, I've also got a heart of gold. I love nothing more than showering my human friends with affectionate licks and tail wags. I'm a social butterfly, too, getting along famously with kids, adults, and other pets alike.

I'm curious about everything around me and always up for exploring new sights and smells. Whether it's investigating a new toy or romping around with my siblings, I approach every day with enthusiasm and a wagging tail.

If you're searching for a furry friend who will bring laughter, joy, and a whole lot of fun into your home, then look no further than me, Ganymede! Let's embark on this adventure together-adopt me, and let the good times roll!

More about this shelter

CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.

CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
