My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

Meet Denim... piercing blue eyes are the first thing you notice. But his DNA was crazy - TWENTY different breeds. All Mutt this boy!! A about 4 months old now, he's actually smaller than we thought he would be, 13#. He is playful and active and pretty fun and feisty. Denim is being fostered with a bunch of other dogs and loves to play. He's met older kids and had done great - so kids over 8 would be great. We think his ideal home has a large fenced yard and another friendly dog. His foster thinks he would be OK as an only dog too - as long as he continues socialization and has dog friends. Denim is the type of dog that wants to play play play - he was getting kind of growly when held, and we moved fosters... turns out this boy wants to be down on the ground and running around with the big dogs. Ha!!

This puppy is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot!

Many rescue dogs need patience when transitioning to a new home. We ask adopters to follow the 3/3/3 rules - allowing for patience and time for new pups to acclimated to their new home. We have made recommendations on their best home placement based on our foster home information.

Save-A-Mutt may require a training contract and $100 refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience). You must be willing to start socializing and training as soon vaccinations are completed at 16 weeks. You pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit.

Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.

Adoptions typically take place in Arlington. He is ready for his forever home!

Adoption fee is $475. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.

Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.

Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
